Program/Student Service Coordinator

Position: Program/Student Service Coordinator

Program/Student Service Coordinator serves as the primary point of contact among our school, our partners in Canada and overseas, international students, their families and other services providers. The coordinator will assist the manager in developing and monitoring international student programs and overseas all administrative aspects of the programs. In her/his role of student service coordinator, the coordinator will provide international students with support regarding their academic and sociocultural progress, and is also responsible for providing support and daily life advice to help international students succeed.

Job Responsibilities:

• Serve as primary program liaison with partners regarding international student program development and issues of concern or interest

• Coordinate all administrative aspects of international student program development and implementation in collaboration with other school staff

• Assist in preparation of operating budget and maintain budgetary controls

• Assist in the preparation of marketing materials, including print and digital materials

• Assist manager as directed

Student Services

• Assist students throughout application and registration process into the program

• Coordinate custodianship and homestay program and after-landing services for international students

• Liaise among international students, school personnel (teachers, faculty, counselors), and students’ families to monitor, address and help develop international student’s academic, social, and behavioral performance inside and outside of school.

• Assist school staff in completing a Student Performance Report

• Perform other duties as reasonably assigned

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in education, business administration or other related area

• Previous experience coaching, mentoring or counseling youth

• Previous experience with administration and/or coordination of student activities

• Previous experience in teaching, training or class facilitation strongly preferred

• Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to shifting priorities

• Excellent communication skills - both written and spoken with strong attention to details

• Familiarity with second languages and cultures strongly preferred

• Strong technical skills including proficiency in MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Word

• Willing to travel overseas when needed

• Willing to respond to emergencies after hours when needed

School Manager 


Employment Type: Permanent, Full Time

We are currently seeking a Senior Manager who could complement our skills and support Langley flying school’s growth in the region as well as internationally.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, organize, evaluate the activities of the school and report it to President;

• Work with the President to expand and develop the school’s flying training programs, especially for international students;

• Coordinate school activities and operations to secure efficiency and compliance to school policies.

• Work with the President to coordinate school technology efforts and make recommendations for improvement.

• Understand, accept, abide by, and implement the school’s philosophy and mission statement in all school activities.

• Promote our pilot programs and to recruit international students;

• Coordinate with the operations team to coordinate other related vocational programs as applicable;

• Provide other administrative support to the President, as required.

• Performs related functions as maybe necessary.

Job Requirements:

• Completion of a college or university program in aviation or a related filed;

• Minimum of five years of experience in the aviation industry with three years in a senior position;

• Previous flying experience is required;

• Good communication skills;

• Expert in aviation skills and aviation theory;

• Travel is required;

• Must be willing to work flexible hours, shifts with weekends and evenings;

• International experience in the aviation industry is preferred;

• Must have training experience for international students whose English is second language;

• Sound knowledge on Civil Aviation Administration of overseas, for example, China, India, Koea ,Vietnam and so on.

Flight Instructor

Position: Class 1, 2, 3 or 4 Flight Instructor (Single Engine and Multi-Engine)

Employment Type: Permanent, Full Time

Location: Langley Airport, BC

Aircraft Types: Cessna 172, PA28, PA34


The Flight Instructor will manage all operational aspects of flight training. This position provides strategic leadership and supervision to the flight training operation, and actively works to further the mission of Langley Flying School as a whole, working with various departments within the company to ensure positive and sustainable growth. The incumbent will ensure the flight school delivers safe, professional and quality training to students, in a manner that builds on the reputation of the flight school and encourages customer retention. 

Minimum Requirements:

• Legally able to work in Canada

• Valid Canadian Flight Instructor Rating

• Satisfactory Flight Test Record

• Experience in conducting ground school (preferred but not required)


•Class 1 Instructors: the hourly wage is $50 Per Hour with base salary according to position.

•Class 2 Instructors: the hourly wage is $40 Per Hour with base salary according to position.

•Class 3 Instructors: the hourly wage is $35 Per Hour.

Second Assistant to the Chief Flying Instructor's Office

This position is a part-time offering for students currently enrolled at Langley Flying School and will work in support of the First Assistant to the CFI Office.  On assigned days, the Second Assistant wil review the fleet status with respect to current deferred and non-deferred defect, and scheduled aircraft maintenance tasks.   ensuring that purchase orders for aircraft maintenance services have been properly prepared, documented, and forward to the aircraft maintenance service provider.  Daily work will include conveying aircraft to and from the maintenance ramp at Langley Airport, and ensuring the completed maintenance tasks are properly documented in the school's maintenance control software system.  The Second Assistance will otherwise provide supporting task support to the CFI related to school administration related to flight training operational control.  Interested students should contact Langleyflying school.

Groundschool Instructors

Langley Flying School is currently in need of Groundschool Instructors to teach classes in the summer. Instructors must be a current or previous holder of a commercial license (aeroplane), or be currently enrolled in a commercial pilot program.  Preference will be given to applicants who have successfully completed the Transport Canada Commercial Pilot Written Examination.  Interested persons should submit their resumes to Langleyflying school.

General Information

Langley Flying School's training operations revolve around its staff of full-time and part-time Flight Instructors, who are responsible for the safe conduct of individual training flights. Flight Instructors are typically recruited from graduates of the school's Commercial Pilot Program, but externally trained Flight Instructors are sought when staff shortages are needed to be filled within tight time frames. Students enrolled in the Commerical Pilot Program who are interested in becoming Flight Instructors should make their intentions known to the Chief Flying Instructors as early as possible.

Like most flying schools in Canada, Langley Flying School Flight Instructors typically remain on the job for two to four years, after which time they are recruited by commercial air carriers providing multi-crew aircraft for commuter or airline operations.

Langley Flying School's staff is governed by traditional rules of seniority based on hire date, with senior Flight Instructors receiving priority with regard to student bookings and access to advance multi-engine and instrument flight instruction.

Flight Instructors begin with a flat hourly pay of $30 per hour for Class IV Flight Instructors, and $35 per hour for Class III and $40 for Class II and above Flight instructors.   Groundschool Instructor are paid $25 per hour for classes, plus one-hour preparation time (per two-hour teaching assignment).  For additional assigned administrative duties, and supervision, Flight Instructors and general staff are paid $18 per hour. Generally, Flight Instructors are able to assume as many added administrative duties as they choose, but typically their primary focus while at the school is line flight instruction.
